Welsh Rugby Side Falls To Biggest Defeat In History

A north Wales-based side suffered the biggest defeat of any side in the top two divisions in the 131-year history of rugby league.

North Wales Crusaders conceded 25 tries and are at the bottom of their league on minus six points, following the heavy 134-0 loss to London Broncos.

The harrowing defeat adds to the already difficult season, and they did so in front of their home support in Colwyn Bay.

Stadiwm Erias played host to the London side’s rampant victory, which bettered their 106-18 triumph earlier in the season.

Since gaining promotion from League One to the Championship in 2025, it was the third time that the North Walian side had conceded more than 100 points during a match this season.

The defeat on Sunday was only ten points away from equaling rugby league’s all-time heaviest defeat, at any level. York Knights faced the North Wales Raiders in 2018 and claimed a 144-0 victory in League One.

For the Crusaders this season, they have conceded 616 points so far and have lost 11 of their 14 matches, whereas the Broncos sit top of the Championship table with 14 wins from 14.
