Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn, who is Tom Aspinall’s new manager, has good news about the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion.
Aspinall was on the sidelines after UFC 321. He was double-eye-poked by Ciryl Gane during their title bout, due to which he was unable to continue fighting. The heavyweight title fight was thus declared a no-contest with Aspinall retaining his strap.
The Brit had to undergo double eye surgery, get an eye ball injection, and in the weeks that followed, he was unable to train and was not even medically cleared for sparring or contact training even a few weeks back.

However, Eddie Hearn now has GOOD NEWS for UFC fans.
Eddie Hearn says Tom Aspinall’s father has told the UFC that Tom is ready to return
Earlier today, on The Ariel Helwani Show, Eddie Hearn revealed that Tom Aspinall’s father, Andy, has reached out to the UFC to let them know that the undisputed heavyweight champion is ready to return to the octagon. He said:
“We have reached out to the UFC, and we have told them that Tom [Aspinall] is ready.”

Hearn said during the same sit-down with Ariel Helwani that, since Aspinall signed with Matchroom Talent Agency, the UFC champ has already made seven figures outside the cage through other deals and his podcast. He also added that he won’t let the 33-year-old fight Ciryl Gane or any other heavyweight on his current UFC deal.

When Tom Aspinall returns, by law, he has to fight the newly minted interim UFC heavyweight champion “Bon Gamin.” Gane stopped Alex Pereira on June 14 at the White House to capture the interim belt, after which he wasted no time calling out the Brit to run it back in Paris in September.
Aspinall, who was not invited to the White House event, reacted to the call-out from his home while watching UFC Freedom 250 on TV. He accepted the offer right away:
“Paris in September? I’ll do that. Let me know. I don’t mind, I’ll go to Paris.”

Yesterday, Aspinall also took a dig at Gane with a humorous skit, wearing a motorbike helmet with the visor closed to suggest he’ll be prepared for everything this time. So Gane can’t land low blows, back-of-the-head shots, or eye pokes. The Brit captioned the post:
