Lancaster revealed that Brown will become available after the 2027 Rugby World Cup and has expressed a strong desire to return home and contribute to New Zealand rugby.
“We know Tony is available after the 2027 Rugby World Cup and he’s made it clear he would love to be part of the All Blacks. This decision is simple, it’s about ensuring the best coaches return to New Zealand.”
Brown has built a reputation as one of rugby’s most innovative attacking coaches, earning praise for his work across Super Rugby, international rugby, and most recently with the Springboks. His arrival is expected to provide valuable experience and fresh ideas as the All Blacks prepare for a new World Cup cycle.
Despite confirming the future appointment, Lancaster emphasised that the All Blacks remain focused on the present under their current coaching group.
