The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Premiership Rugby club Saracens are investigating a nightclub incident involving England cricket captain Ben Stokes, fast bowler Gus Atkinson and a Saracens academy player.

In a statement, the ECB confirmed that Stokes and Atkinson were involved in a “breach of team protocols” during the early hours of Monday morning, following England’s victory over New Zealand at Lord’s on Sunday.
Saracens have since acknowledged the incident and confirmed that one of their academy players was involved.
A club statement said: “We are aware of an incident involving an academy player connected to Saracens on Sunday evening.
“The club is currently establishing the full facts and is in contact with the relevant authorities and individuals involved.
“Once this process is complete, the matter will be reviewed and addressed appropriately.”
Both organisations are continuing to gather information as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.
