Purdue shooting guard Fletcher Loyer will join the Clippers on an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Law Murray of The Athletic (Twitter link).
The 6’4″ senior is a three-point specialist, making 309 shots from beyond the arc in his four years with the Boilermakers. He led the Big 10 in three-point shooting percentage this season at 43.2% and connected at 41.1% from beyond the arc over the course of his college career. He also averaged 14.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 39 games this year.
Loyer is a three-time honorable mention All-Big 10 selection, and he helped the team reach the NCAA title game as a sophomore. He ranked 99th on ESPN’s big board of the top 100 draft-eligible prospects.
His father is John Loyer, the Clippers’ director of pro scouting.
The Exhibit 10 contract provides Loyer with a chance to earn a two-way deal. He can also receive a bonus worth up to $91K if he’s waived before the start of the season and spends at least 60 days with the San Diego Clippers, L.A.’s G League affiliate.
