Prince George To Play For Same Rugby Team As Dad Prince William

Prince George is set to follow in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, after it was revealed he will attend Eton College from September 2026.

The future king is expected to join the school’s famous rugby programme, the same institution where the Prince of Wales developed his love for the sport during his teenage years.

Eton, one of the most prestigious schools in the United Kingdom, boasts a rich sporting tradition and has produced numerous international rugby players.

Prince William attended the Berkshire school between 1995 and 2000, where he played rugby and shared the field with future Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne, who was a year below him at the college.

William later went on to become Patron of the Rugby Football Union and the Welsh Rugby Union, maintaining a close connection to the game throughout his adult life.

George, who turns 13 next month, has already been seen enjoying a variety of sports and is believed to have inherited his parents’ competitive streak.

His mother, Catherine, Princess of Wales, is also a keen sports fan and regularly attends major rugby fixtures.

While it remains to be seen how far George’s rugby talents can take him, his move to Eton is likely to draw comparisons with his father’s school days and continue the royal family’s long-standing association with rugby.
