Knicks, Grizzlies Fielding Offers For Early Second-Round Picks

The Knicks and Grizzlies, who hold the 31st and 32nd overall picks in the 2026 NBA draft, respectively, are both “actively” fielding trade inquiries on those selections, reports Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link).

As Charania details, both New York and Memphis are open to trading their picks, which are essentially up for auction. Future draft assets would likely be the return if either team makes a deal, Charania adds.

Both clubs showed on the first day of the 2026 draft that they’re very willing to trade down. After selecting Cameron Boozer third overall, the Grizzlies held a second first-rounder at No. 16, but traded down with the Thunder to No. 17 and then with the Pistons to No. 21, acquiring a total of five future second-rounders in the process. Oklahoma City drafted Bennett Stirtz with Memphis’ original pick and Detroit nabbed Ebuka Okorie at No. 17, while the Grizzlies opted for forward Karim Lopez with the 21st pick.

The Knicks, meanwhile, entered Tuesday night with the No. 24 pick, but traded down with the Lakers to No. 25, then with the Mavericks to No. 30, and then with the Suns to No. 47. New York acquired cash considerations and a total of five total second-round picks (including No. 47) in that series of transactions and now controls three 2026 second-rounders (Nos. 31, 47, and 55).

As we detailed earlier today, Duke wing Isaiah Evans, UNC big man Henri Veesaar, Arkansas guard Meleek Thomas, Cincinnati big man Baba Miller, German guard Jack Kayil, Louisville guard Ryan Conwell, BYU wing Richie Saunders, and Houston guard Emanuel Sharp are some of the most notable prospects still left on the board ahead of the second round.
