The Jazz are signing undrafted forward Jaxon Kohler to an Exhibit 10 deal, reports Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press (via Twitter).
The 6’9″ forward played four seasons with Michigan State and emerged as a reliable, if low-volume, shooter in his junior and senior years after only getting spot minutes in his first two seasons. He averaged 12.5 points and 8.9 rebounds, including 2.9 offensive boards, per contest on .500/.389/.869 shooting splits this season while starting every game.
Kohler, a native of American Fork, Utah, ranked 91st on Jeremy Woo’s final big board for ESPN and 89th on Sam Vecenie’s draft guide for The Athletic, with Vecenie calling him an “undersized post big who will need to transition skills more to the perimeter.”
If Kohler is waived before the start of the season, he could earn a bonus worth up to $91K if he spends at least 60 days with the Salt Lake City Stars, Utah’s G League affiliate.
