Houston Mallette To Join Bulls On Exhibit 10 Deal

Rookie guard Houston Mallette is set to sign with the Bulls after going undrafted out of Alabama, reports Blake Byler of BamaOnLine (Twitter link).

A five-year college player who spent three seasons at Pepperdine and two at Alabama, Mallette accepted a lesser role with the Crimson Tide after having been a full-time starter for the Waves. After missing most of 2024/25 due to a non-basketball upper body injury he sustained at his home, he averaged 6.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 23.3 minutes per game across 35 appearances (12 starts) in his final college season.

Mallette showed off a solid outside shot over the course of his college career, attempting 5.1 three-pointers per game and knocking them down at a 37.2% rate.

Byler hears that Mallette’s deal is for the Summer League (Twitter link). However, Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress, who is maintaining a tracker of UDFA deals at RookieScale.com, tells Hoops Rumors that Mallette is also expected to sign an Exhibit 10 deal with the Bulls.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed training camp deal that will put Mallette in line for a bonus worth up to $91K if he’s waived before the regular season begins and then spends at least 60 days with the Windy City Bulls, Chicago’s G League affiliate. It could also be converted to a two-way contract before opening night.
