The Heat have picked up their $2.3MM team option on Pelle Larsson for the 2026/27 season, the team announced (via Twitter).
After being selected in the second round of the 2024 draft, Larsson signed a three-year deal that included a team option in the third year. Larsson’s salary will remain non-guaranteed until the start of the regular season, but that’s just a technicality, since there’s no chance he’ll be waived before then.
The 25-year-old shooting guard was rumored to be involved in the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade talks with Milwaukee, but Miami was able to complete the deal without including him. Larsson is coming off a breakout year, as he started 54 of the 70 games he played and averaged 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26.4 minutes per night. He also shot 49.6% from the field and 32.3% from three-point range.
Larsson will be eligible for a four-year extension this summer worth up to a projected $93MM, and he’s set to become a restricted free agent next offseason if he doesn’t reach a new deal before then.
