Bucks Agree To Three-Year Deal With Ousmane Dieng

The Bucks and forward Ousmane Dieng have agreed on a three-year, $17.5MM contract, Shams Charania of ESPN reports (via Twitter). The final year of the deal will be a team option, HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto adds (via Twitter).

Dieng became an unrestricted free agent when the Bucks didn’t give him a qualifying offer, which would have been worth $8.77MM. Instead, the two parties pursued a multi-year agreement at a lower figure.

Dieng, the 11th overall pick in the 2022 draft, spent the first three-and-a-half years of his NBA career in Oklahoma City, but was unable to crack the team’s crowded rotation on a consistent basis.

He was acquired from the Thunder in a three-team deal at last season’s trade deadline and got a chance to play regularly for the Bucks down the stretch. He averaged 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 26.8 minutes per game over the course of 30 contests (20 starts) in Milwaukee, convincing the Bucks’ front office to retain him.

With Giannis Antetokounmpo headed to Miami, Dieng has an opportunity to claim a starting spot – or at least a featured reserve role – on the revamped roster.
