And it turns out Shearer couldn’t be happier with their choice of partners.
Speaking previously about his daughters dating professional sportsmen, the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer joked that he was simply relieved they hadn’t brought footballers home.
“I’m just glad it’s not a footballer,” Shearer quipped.
The light-hearted remark quickly became a fan favourite and highlighted the good relationship he enjoys with both rugby stars.

When Chloe announced her engagement to Young, Shearer couldn’t resist adding another trademark comment.
